Compost Site

The Composting facility at the Indiana Recycling Center is
run by the Indiana County Solid Waste Authority.  The facility accepts leaves, grass clippings, brush and small branches up
to 5" in diameter.

Grass clippings and leaves and other yard waste should be placed in the appropriate drop-off location. Materials must be removed from bags or other containers before placing them in the drop-off site.

Compost made from leaves and grass clippings is made available to residents starting on the first Monday of April each year. The distribution is conducted on a first come, first serve basis. Loading of compost is available on a self-serve basis; however, for a $5 fee per skid loader scoop (approximately 1,000 pounds) the Authority will load compost into your truck or trailer from 9:00 am ~ 3:00 pm.
